CHATHAM COUNTY – I am appalled by recent reports of a possible CCSO inmate being seen partying in an Atlanta club while wearing a CCSO jumpsuit. This raises serious concerns about whether the inmate had escaped or if the department failed to reclaim the jumpsuit, which is county property. Both of these scenarios would be clear violations of procedure and raise serious questions about the competence and accountability of John Wilcher.

What is even more concerning is the fact that John Wilcher has chosen to remain silent on this matter and has refused to take any action. This lack of response only further highlights his lack of transparency. Is this the type of leader we want representing our community—a sheriff who turns a blind eye to possible violations and refuses to take responsibility for the actions of his department?

I can assure the residents of Chatham County that when elected, I will uphold the highest standards of accountability and transparency. I will not shy away from addressing any issues or concerns raised within the department and will ensure that all procedures are followed to the letter. I believe in leading by example and will hold myself and my deputies accountable for our actions.

I am committed to restoring trust between the community and the Sheriff's Office, and I will work tirelessly to ensure that our department operates with integrity and professionalism at all times. It is time for a leader who will not only talk about accountability, transparency, and trustworthiness but will also demonstrate it in their actions.
