CHATHAM COUNTY – John Wilcher has time and time again demonstrated his inability to maintain a secure and drug-free environment within the Chatham County Detention Center. Today's arrest is a clear and damning indictment of his lack of leadership.

Despite being entrusted with the safety and well-being of inmates and staff, Wilcher's lax oversight has allowed corruption to fester within the very walls meant to uphold justice. This systematic failure that rests squarely on Wilcher's shoulders.

While law enforcement officers across the country work tirelessly to combat drug trafficking, Wilcher's administration seems to be turning a blind eye. His lack of vigilance and inability to root out a few bad actors tarnishes the reputation of the entire department. It's clear that Wilcher's leadership is not only ineffective but detrimental to public safety.
