Effective Public Safety
Our county is growing quickly, yet the Chatham County Sheriff's Office operates behind the times. Public safety is paramount to our daily lives and you should feel safe in our community, not fearful when you step out of your home. Due to stagnant leadership, our county has become more dangerous than the City of Atlanta. I will work closely with other police municipalities within the county to help protect and defend our community from dangerous criminals.
Effective public safety goes beyond reactive measures; it involves proactive measures to prevent harm, promote well-being, and create a strong sense of security for everyone. Keeping our families and community safe starts with building a strong, connected Chatham County that can withstand and recover from adverse events, including emergencies. I will ensure the Sheriff's Office is prepared to respond swiftly and effectively when you need support and that we implement proactive measures to reduce criminal activity. This strategy includes community policing, encouraging the formation of and empowering neighborhood watch programs, and targeted interventions to address specific risk factors.
My mission is to make our community a safe place to live, work, and raise a family. As your sheriff, I'll use the powers prescribed by law to keep our county safe and secure for everyone in it. Public safety is a top priority for me, and I believe it's essential for businesses, individuals, families, churches, schools, and every other aspect of our community to thrive.
It's no secret that violent crime and gang activity have plagued our communities for years. Instead of going after dangerous criminals and putting them behind bars, John Wilcher decided that executing warrants was too much work and simply gave up. As your next sheriff, I will go after dangerous criminals and ensure they have their day in court.
My vision for Chatham County is one where citizens feel safe and secure, where crime can be reasonably prevented before it occurs, and where law enforcement is respected and trusted. As your next sheriff, I will work tirelessly each day to bring this vision to life. By implementing strong community partnerships, education and outreach programs, and utilizing the latest non-invasive law enforcement technology, we can fight the dangerous criminals and gangs who terrorize our neighborhoods.
